Harve des Pas Temporary Roof Project, Jersey

Following the extensive damage caused by Storm Ciarán, a large block of flats on the beachfront in Harve des Pas required an immediate and reliable temporary roofing solution to protect the building and enable critical roof and restoration works to proceed.

A&A Scaffolding Solutions was appointed to design, supply and install what was, at the time, one of the largest temporary roof structures ever erected in Jersey. The project showcased our ability to deliver complex scaffolding and temporary roofing solutions under challenging conditions while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and professionalism.

Temporary Roofing Following Storm Ciarán

Storm Ciarán caused significant damage across Jersey, leaving many properties exposed to the elements. For this particular project, a large-scale temporary roof was required to create a fully weatherproof working environment, allowing contractors to carry out extensive repairs while protecting the building from further deterioration.

Our temporary roofing system provided complete protection from the unpredictable coastal weather conditions, ensuring the restoration programme could continue without interruption.

Overcoming Complex Site Access Challenges

One of the biggest challenges on this project was the restricted access at the Harve des Pas site. Due to the location and surrounding environment, it was impossible to utilise a crane to lift materials into position.

Instead, every scaffold component and roofing section had to be manually handled and transported by our experienced workforce. Over a period of more than four months, our team carefully hand-balled thousands of components, demonstrating exceptional determination, teamwork and expertise throughout the construction process.

This level of commitment and attention to detail was instrumental in the successful delivery of the project.
